FenCon News and Notes

Art Crawl!: If you're an artist participating in our fourth annual art show then please check the updated art show page for this year's rule and printable bid sheets. We look forward to seeing all this cool art and to seeing you, too.

Got reservations?: Our expanded room block for FenCon V in the Crowne Plaza is filling fast. Rooms are still available at the great FenCon rate of just $88 per night for one to four guests in a king or double standard room and just $108 per night for one to four guests in an executive suite. Call 972-980-8877 or reserve online and use code FCN when making your reservation.

There are just

Just a few slots left: FenCon's popular writers workshop, hosted this year by Jay Lake, has only a few spots remaining. We'll take your membership forms and payments online or by mail. With Jay Lake as instructor this year will be a genuine treat.

Come party with us: If you or your group wants to throw a party at FenCon we need to make sure your room is on our designated party floor. This year that floor is the second floor, the same floor as all of the FenCon function space. Book your room and then send your confirmation number to hotel@fencon.org and we'll make sure you're on the party floor. Then download this room party form, read it carefully, then sign it and turn it in at Registration before your party. We will also use this information to promote your party at our opening ceremonies, FenCon Cabaret, and in the FenCon ION (our official convention newsletter). If you are throwing a private party we still need the completed form but we will not announce your party.

FenCon is of the fen, by the fen, and for the fen.

Join us: Want to be a part of our celebration of 50 years of science fiction conventions in Texas? Do you love science fiction, music, science, fandom, parties, or books? Then you need to get a membership for FenCon V. It's a full weekend of fun and fandom, too! Get all the details on our membership page.

Breathe easy: The hotel has informed us that they will be 100% smoke-free, including in guest rooms, by the time of FenCon V.

Thank you, Austin: We'd like to thank everybody who stopped by our patent-pending semi-legendary room parties at ArmadilloCon 30 in the state capitol last month. We hope to see y'all in October. (Buy your membership now!)
